This was a revelation for me a few months ago that many of my life decisions were governed by fear. I felt a sense of empowerment at that moment and decided to take certain decisions that I was holding back- moved to my hometown (closer to family) and took a 6-month sabbatical from work. I still don't fully understand how to act from a place of only love. I guess it'll take more reflection and practice. :) Do you have any suggestions/ readings on that?
I was so happy to read this, Chavi! It can only really be called living when we are moving forward (evolving) despite our fears - and you are really living it seems, it's fantastic.
You're right about it being a practice, to act from a place of love, not because we don't have love in abundance but because our fearful instincts will always be quicker to react and can be very distracting! The practice is accepting that and assessing in each case if we do actually have anything to fear, and whether it's enough to justify a fear-based response.
I have SO much reading I can share, although mostly academic (I'm happy to share if you want to DM me). A BEAUTIFUL book I loved on the subject however, was the Forty Rules of Love by one of my favourite authors, Elif Shafak.
Thank you again for your beautiful reply and let me know how your practice develops over time. :)
Thanks so much for the book suggestion. I'll give it a read. Staying away from academic readings at the moment but will DM you when I go deeper into the topic. And yes, will keep you posted on my developments.
It's beautifully written, Hannah.
